This gorgeous, Tsavorite, known as Green Tanzanite, Ring is set with over 7cts of this fabulous, rich green gemstone. Tsavorite, or Tsavolite, is a variety of the garnet group species - trace amounts of vanadium or chromium provide the green colour. In 1967, British gem prospector and geologist, Campbell R Bridges, discovered a deposit of this gem in the mountains of North East Tanzania in a place called Lemshuko. The specimens he found were of a very intense colour and high transparency. The gemstone was only known to mineral specialists until 1974, when the world famous Tiffany & Co launched a marketing campaign which brought broader recognition of the stone. The Serpent is a symbol of love and friendship and this one is set with rich red Ruby eyes. The ring is stamped 375 - 9ct yellow gold.In a high class jewellers this would retail at £2,500.00.
