This is out of this world!
A wonderful large Cameo brooch with a spectacular carving of an angel with two rearing horses cameo depicting EROS a mythological subject but not sure which.
Eos (daughter of Iperione and Teia) is the sister of Helios (the Sun) and of Selene (the Moon), and the mother of the Winds and the Stars.
The carving is very high relief, and wonderful crisp carving with smooth polished finish.
A very collectable subject, this is a must for any lover of angels or cameos.
The Swivel spins over to reveal hair at the moment but you can add your own sentiments.
The frame is 18ct gold gilt with beautiful leaf decoration - one leaf is missing but this is minimal.
The shell is in VERY good condition.
Measures almost 2 ¾ inches down and 2 ¼ inches across.
A spectacular cameo, complete with safety chain.
